Night Visions Released!

Night Visions is now available for sale from Cerridwen Press. It was just released this morning. Here's a blurb:

He appears to her every night, chasing her until she's trapped at gunpoint. A stalker who wants her dead. Terror jolts her awake with vivid scenes of her death. The problem is that Angelina Benton's prophetic dreams always come true. The day Jared Maxwell walks into The Variety Vine, the nightmare becomes reality. Circumstances force Angie to work and live with Jared. If she refuses, she loses her home and business. If she agrees she may lose her life.

Love at first sight isn't possible in Jared mind. When he meets Angelina his world turns upside down. He's determined to gain her trust and win her love even though he has an ulterior motive for being in Dansburg, Virginia.

Strange events unfold that put Angie's life in danger. Despite her fears, she realizes she's falling in love with the rugged man from her dreams. Can she overcome her fears and suspicions to fulfill her destiny or will trusting Jared be the ultimate mistake?

Publisher Note: This book was previously published elsewhere under the same title, but has been revised.

I've started a reader's group and I'll be posting excerpts there this morning.

New Contest

CONTEST:

Blogs , blogs, blogs.
Which one do you like?

I've recently decided to join the blogging world. I signed up for a blogspot account in 2005 but never started my blog due to lack of time. Now, I'm utilizing the blogspot site that I originally set up but I've also found a really cool format at wordpress. Have you used either one? Which do you like best? Are there pro's or con's to either of these? Have you been spammed to death by one of them? Do you have any other suggestions for blog sites that you love? I'm interested in your feedback so I'm making this a contest. I'm going to give a free psychic reading or ebook download of the new release of Night Visions (winners choice) to the person who sends me the most helpful feedback about these two blogs. You can find them both here:

http://melissaalvarez.blogspot.com (you're here now!)
http://melissaalvarez.wordpress.com

Email me at contact @ melissaa. com (without the spaces.) I'll announce the winner on February 1st on my website. Thanks in advance!

Melissa

Writerspace Chat and other news

Join me at Writerspace Tuesday night, January 16, 2007. I'll be there with other Cerridwen Press authors promoting our releases. I'm giving away a digital copy of Night Visions when it is released this Thursday (January 18th). Visit Cerridwen Press to get your copy!

I've just updated my website to include the RWA conference I'm attending in February. I'm looking forward to traveling down to Miami and meeting fellow authors, agents and editors. If you're attending the Fun In The Sun Conference hosted by the Florida Romance Writers RWA Chapter send me and email.

I've also set up a new page at
AuthorsDen.com where readers can connect with me. While doing this I realized that I really need to take a new picture. LOL My hair isn't that light anymore. The Florida sun was drying it out so I darkened it and it's much longer now. I think I'll try to have another one taken this week.

I've been working hard on Flatrock Creek and am happy to say that I'm down to the final chapters. I went through it during the past week to jot down all story questions so that I make sure I don't leave my readers hanging at the end. I polished as I went so the majority of the book is ready for submission. My goal is to complete it this week and get it out to the requesting editor early next week. Then, I can reopen my clairvoyant site to all of my clients who have also been patiently waiting for me to finish this book. Next on the agenda I have two projects going on at the same time - finishing Enchanted Visions for submission to Cerridwen Press and writing an anthology submission.

Today I'm taking a break from writing. We're off to the South Florida Fair. It's a yearly event that we take our kids too and I'm looking forward to fun games, rides and the cotton candy. ;-)

Until next time,

Smiles,

Melissa

It's A New Year

I signed up for a Blogger account in September of 2005 but never got around to actually creating and maintaining a blog. With the New Year, I've decided to give blogging a try. My plans are to post weekly but not on a set day. If I'm able to post more often I will. For those of you who don't know me, I'm including a bit about myself and my background in this first post.

I have worked as the Guide to Romance Fiction at About.com, the publisher/owner of New Age Dimensions, an editor, a writing Correspondent at The American Kennel Club, owned multi-state service distributorship with my husband, a graphic designer, website designer, and I have been a waitress, actress and model.

Currently I am writing full time, am the co-owner of
Top Hat Friesians, a professional seer/clairvoyant advisor/metaphysician with a website at APsychicHaven.com and the mother of very active boys.

I have had two books published in the past. They include The Phoenix's Guide To Self Renewal (nonfiction, 2001/2004) and Night Visions (2004). I'm happy to announce that Night Visions has sold to
Cerridwen Press as an expanded version of the original with new scenes, new editing and revisions. It will be released on January 18, 2007.

I have also participated in the following titles: Paranormal Experiences Volume One (nonfiction, 2005, I was the lead author), The Writers.net Anthology of Prose (fiction, 2002), and was quoted in Book Marketing From A-Z by Francine Silverman (2006), and How To Operate A Financially Successful Pizza And Sub Restaurant by Shri Henkle (2006).

I love to hear from my readers so feel free to write me anytime.

That's it for today. More later!

Smiles,

Melissa
